The Very Imposing Festival of Vigan!

When January falls on the calendar, the entire city of Vigan is getting busy. Every year, the Bigueños celebrate the festival of their patron saint, San Pablo, and they also celebrate the fiesta of the city of Vigan. The Longganisa Street Dancing and Showdown, the Vigan City Grand Parade, Longganisa Cookfest are just some of the events that Bigueños hold during the fiesta. Not only that, the government of Vigan is also inviting Filipino artists, whether they are actors, singers or bands, to also celebrate the festival, along with the Bigueños.

For me, my favorite event, every Vigan festival is

the Longganisa Street Dancing, and the Vigan City Parade. As I have also been a participant in these events. Whenever I watch them, I can't help but go back to the past. It's sad and fun to think that before we were the ones that were being watched and applauded by the audiences, but now, I'm one of those applauding, along with the audiences. Participating in these contests before was tiring but worth it in the end. The smiles on the lips of the people watching you, the noises coming from the drums and lyres. The applause of the people watching. Those are just some of the wonderful things to see whenever Vigan Street Dancing takes place.  With the passage of time, the events during the Vigan fiesta became more and more fun. The way the Bigueños celebrate here is really unique and grand.

You can definitely say "It's more fun in Vigan!" Not only, the sights are beautiful here, but also the people who live here and their festivals that are celebrated every year. As a Bigueño, I am proud of my City. I thank God, I was born here. You can only find all this here in the city of Vigan. The delicious Ilocano food, the beautiful sights, the friendly people and the fun fiesta. So what are you waiting for? Let's go! Come try and experience the very unique fun here in Vigan!
