2nd Quarter

From: Dear Fashion Site

Second quarter is finally over, meaning a new quarter is coming again. 3rd quarter is coming again. I can't believe it. It feels like yesterday when I was afraid of attending my class in the first day of school, now here I am again, welcoming a new quarter.

Not just like the first quarter, my life is easier this time. I already adjusted. Not like in 1st quarter, everything was so difficult for me. Now, there's still many difficulties that I am facing, but I can say that I can handle all of them already. On second quarter, I discovered a lot and learned a lot, not only in our lessons, but also lessons that I can apply to my daily life. I learned that having a good classmates and teachers will make your life easier too.
The challenges that I encountered was doing our thematic projects, alone. It is more difficult to make it since we have no time at all. Also, having no printer is difficult.  How did I overcome these challenges? Well, I have this friend and thanks to her and her patience, I can have a printed outputs and projects, anytime, and regarding on having no time, I just tried my best to finish it. sometimes we need to fight our own selves in order to move forward. Fight our laziness, conquer our fears, fight our anxiety in order to survive.

Moving on, second quarter was fun. Those activities, like zumba, poster making, reader's theater, research proposal and all. Our efforts was worth it. I can't believe I completed another quarter again. I will try my best again, and I will try making, more efforts to some of our performance tasks. All I have to do is trust myself and try my best. Hopefully this quarter will be easy again.

The Very Imposing Festival of Vigan!

When January falls on the calendar, the entire city of Vigan is getting busy. Every year, the Bigueños celebrate the festival of their patron saint, San Pablo, and they also celebrate the fiesta of the city of Vigan. The Longganisa Street Dancing and Showdown, the Vigan City Grand Parade, Longganisa Cookfest are just some of the events that Bigueños hold during the fiesta. Not only that, the government of Vigan is also inviting Filipino artists, whether they are actors, singers or bands, to also celebrate the festival, along with the Bigueños.

For me, my favorite event, every Vigan festival is

the Longganisa Street Dancing, and the Vigan City Parade. As I have also been a participant in these events. Whenever I watch them, I can't help but go back to the past. It's sad and fun to think that before we were the ones that were being watched and applauded by the audiences, but now, I'm one of those applauding, along with the audiences. Participating in these contests before was tiring but worth it in the end. The smiles on the lips of the people watching you, the noises coming from the drums and lyres. The applause of the people watching. Those are just some of the wonderful things to see whenever Vigan Street Dancing takes place.  With the passage of time, the events during the Vigan fiesta became more and more fun. The way the Bigueños celebrate here is really unique and grand.

You can definitely say "It's more fun in Vigan!" Not only, the sights are beautiful here, but also the people who live here and their festivals that are celebrated every year. As a Bigueño, I am proud of my City. I thank God, I was born here. You can only find all this here in the city of Vigan. The delicious Ilocano food, the beautiful sights, the friendly people and the fun fiesta. So what are you waiting for? Let's go! Come try and experience the very unique fun here in Vigan!

THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR

THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR

My favorite month is December. Why? It's because everything seems fine and peaceful. It's like there's no problem around at all. The colorful lights coming from the Christmas lights. The loud sound of Christmas song coming from the radio. The feeling is really nostalgic. The breeze of the air. Simbang Gabi is being held. The song of Willie Revillame and Jose Mari Chan is being played. People are giving gifts and money to each other. The nostalgic feeling of me as child that's getting excite of receiving gifts and going to caroling with childhood friends. Also, travelling to Manila, to get my dad at the airport. Everytime, December comes, I can't stop unlocking all my childhood memories. Maybe because I had a great and precious memories of December when I was a kid. December really gives me a crazy nostalgic feeling. And I just love that feeling.

December 2022 was fun. I completed the Misa de Gallo. They say if you complete the 9 days of that mass, then you can make a wish. I made a wish and that'll be a secret. It started from December 16 and ended in December 24. And for the Christmas eve, we ( mom, younger brother and me) celebrated it with my family's friend and also our neighbor. The whole night was fun. Exchange gifts, parlor games, dancing and singing, and also a lot of foods hehe. But I didn't take any photo since I was not in the mood, the whole night. I didn't participate in any games. But I can say that, that night was fun. On December 26th, my dad came home from Manila and followed by my older brother who came home at 28th. So that's the reason, why we decided to celebrate Christmas with our friends since it'll be boring to celebrate it with our own.

Overall, although I didn’t celebrate Christmas with the whole family, it was still fun and great. Because of our family’s friend. The gift giving and all. The greetings that I received. I really felt the spirit of Christmas.

2023: A New Beginning

A New Year has begun, 2022 is now finally over. Time flies really fast, right? It feels like it was just yesterday when my brother and dad came back from Manila. And now, they are here again, celebrating New Year with them. It just feels like yesterday when I'm really excited about buying new clothes to wear on New Year.  And now, here we are again, welcoming another year.

On December 31th, our whole family ate dinner together. Whole family means, including my cousins, aunt and uncles. It's like a reunion. My grandpa requested for us to have a reunion. Since my brother and other cousin are working on Manila. Once a year, my brother comes home and that's why, we were only then completed. We ate and caught up with everybody. I played with my cute niece. The two siblings of my mom are present. Actually, we're not complete since my one cousin didn't make it to come since I think he had other plans that night. But it's okay. The night was still amusing.

On New Year's Eve, it was really pleasing. The sound of people, welcoming the year 2023. The loud music coming from the radios and videokes. The New Year's countdown. The loud sounds of the motorcycles. The foods. The colorful fireworks in the sky. It was wonderful and glamorous.

Overall, Christmas and New Year are the best holiday for me. 2022, taught me a lot of lessons. I lose friends but I also met a lot of new friends that I can say real. I met a lot of people that inspired me and taught me a lot of lessons.

Even though, sometimes life is really hard, I

had friends that I relied on. They are the most precious and I cherish the most. They are the only people that I can rely on. And I thank God, that He gave me these people. They were with me, not only in 2022 but since we were kids. And I hope, we will stay together until we grow old. I don't want to loss this friendship. I just wanna thank them for being here with me last year and I hope they will still be here for me, this year and every year haha. They are making my teenage years, more memorable. I had a lot of "first times" last year and most of those is I am with them. Sleeping over, playing monopoly, having s'mores winning in a claw machine and  going to the beach to see the sunrise, they were with me with those" first times".  Thanks to them, I never feel alone.

I want to thank myself for trying and being adventurous this time. I experienced a lot of new things this year, like going to a concert (Lapillus concert), making s’mores on a bonfire and a lot more. 2022 was great. Now, 2023 has already begun. I'm hoping and praying that this year will be a good year, not just for me but also to my family, friends and to all people.  One thing that I can make sure this 2023, is that, I will continue my journey, will keep on striving and will keep on trying new things.
