Celebrating 121st years of educational excellence with its unique self-paced, ISNHS has added another year of quality and impressive education, last saturday March 25, 2023 with the theme ‘’Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity ’’. It is the one of the highlights of the school every year that most of the students are waiting for.
The first part of the said occasion was the Thanksgiving Mass which was held at the ISNHS Centennial Gymnasium at 8:00 am. While the second part of the foundation day was the program at 10:00 am. The program was started with the welcoming address by Mrs. Editha C. Bagcal the Principal IV of the ISNHS, followed by the message of Ms. Gemma Q. Tacuycuy and the intermission number of the selected Grade 10 students. The program's Master's of Ceremony were Mrs. Czarise R. Peria and Mr. Aldrin D. Dela Cruz. The joyful music and decorations brought about the festive ambiance of the Ilocos Sur National Higschool community perked up the ISNHSians after the non-stop blessing given by Miss Charmaine Antiporda who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker of the said occasion and the inspirational talk with Dr. Vida Margarette Andal Bueno. After that, the Awarding of Plaque of Recognition to the Guest Speaker and another intermission number by the Teacher's Choir were next. Awarding of Outstanding Teachers, Employees and Retirees plus the Words of Gratitude of Mr. Rommel R. Rabo were also part of the said program. The second part of the program was ended by the Closing Song, Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat.
Finally, the third and last part of the event was the field demo at 1:00 pm. It was started by the prayer led by Mr. Joseph Q. Obrero and the welcoming address by Mr. Reynario T. Viloria. Next was the Field Demonstration, Calisthenics (Galaw Pilipinas, Festival Dances ( Kannawidan Festival) and the Hiphop Dancers. Also, the Tradtional Games by FEC Officers, Booths by SSG are part of the third part of the event. Lastly the Words of Gratitude was delivered by Mrs. Judeliza M. Refuerzo. It was nice but I just got to witness the afternoon program or the third part of the program which is the field demo. One of the most amusing part is when the Mapeh teachers and some students danced the Galaw Pilipinas. I was very amazed on how they danced and also it is eye pleasing to see how plenty they are and how they danced with a smile on their faces despite of the heat since it is 1 pm in the afternoon.
Foundation day in school is indeed fun, as Chad Sugg said "Enjoy your Youth, you'll never be younger than you are at this very moment". Students and teachers enjoyed this event especially since it has been almost 3 years since the last face-to-face celebration of this event. The efforts and hardworks of all ISNHSians facilitators, event organizers, students and teachers really paid off.
